I am using Reaper 1.888. When it is open along side RiffWorks Standard and I close either of these programs (doesn't matter which one) my entire computer blue screens (memory dump) and shuts down. Crash!! They same to work ok together until I try to close one of them down.

I thought this issue was specific to my old computer running Windows XP. I have a new computer now with Windows Vista and the same thing happens!

Anyone know, why these two programs can't get along? Are any of you experiencing these types of crashes?

Thanks,
Rich

The only time I've ever had blue screen crashes was when I tried to run my TASCAM US-428 and my Creative X-Fi soundcard alongside RiffWorks. They clearly hate each other at 'driver level'. I had quite a number of system restores to do which took up lots of time.
The only thing to do to figure out where the issue lies is to uninstall each ASIO driver in turn and see which one does all the nasty stuff. Make sure to pass on any dump files etc. to Sonoma. It might also be a good idea to pass things to the guys at Cockos too.
Cheers!

Aha! I'm using Tascam FW-1082 for audio interface. It's firewire. May very well be an issue with the ASIO driver itself. I'll do some testing with that. Thanks for the tip Scott!

Anyone else using Reaper with a different audio interface? If so, are you having these problems? Please report if so...
