Is there any word yet whether or not RiffWorks will be compatible with the new PODx3? A few questions regarding this have popped up over at the Line 6 forums.

If you are running RW Standard. I don't see where it would be an issue. Are you just talking about the Line6 version of RW?

I have the Standard version but many others, over at Line 6, have the L6 version. I asked this question here a month ago but Michelle didn't know at that time.

It should work fine, but we'd like to try it out before saying for sure. We've asked Line 6 about it and will get back to you once we know. Let us know if any of you have success with it.

Thanks,
Michelle

It could be as late as January when drivers and editors are released for the new Pod's. Hopefully the drivers will come quickly. But I believe both X3 and X3Live have digital outs, so you could run into a soundcard without compromising quality. Need to double check that last bit.

Relative to this topic, here’s a response over at Line 6 – See Line6miller’s answer at the bottom of the thread:

Quote from that thread:

"Hey Ben,

At this time there has been no testing done with Riffworks and the X3. We will be getting together with Sonoma Wireworks for some testing once the USB audio driver for the X3 is ready (October 12th). We should have some information on this in the upcoming week to week and a half."

See Michelle....you do need my help!! I know you and the boys are way too busy to sit down with the POD X3 and Riffworks and work out all the bugs...that's what we beta teasters are for. I will be glad to spare you the misery and test it out for you. I know you have my address. Just send the X3 and the postcard and I will buy the beer the next time you guys are in town!.....mwhauahahah

I'm using it now with the spdif into my creative digital in and asio4all. It works fine, but it'll be alot simpler when the drivers are released on the 12th. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks GuitarSlinger!

So, it does work with RiffWorks. Are you liking the x3? Which one did you get - Bean or Live?

An Aside: Have you noticed that "many of the few" (members who aren't moderators here), feature Fender guitars in they avatars. Wait! I forgot about Mickey.

I got a bean this time. It's actually my soundcard that's interfacing with riffworks, not the PodX3. I wont go over all the new features, but there were enough of them to make me want to upgrade. I really like that it will be a true USB 2.0 device and can multitrack two independent tone paths. Plus I got a nice price for my XTL so I upgraded for the price of a model pack, which I didn't have and now I do. Hehehe.

I don't play my Fender much since I got the MM guitars.

GuitarSlinger,

Since you are not using the PODx3 as your input device, you're using the digital input into your creative card, we can't say that the PODx3 is compatible yet. Please let us know when the new drivers come out if it works directly via USB for you. We'll be testing it ourselves soon.

Thanks!
