I purchased a Toneport UX2 after i had purchased Riffworks standard, is there a way you can use the tones from gearbox inside riffworks, like you would amplitube? If so how?

Yes you can use GearBox with RiffWorks Standard. In fact, many of us here do so - including me. All you need to do is: first boot-up GearBox (with your TonePort connected of course) and then boot-up RiffWorks. You are now really to record using GearBox. The key is that GearBox must be running at the same time as RiffWorks to record.

GearBox isn’t actually working from “inside” RiffWorks but it is connected and as a result, works just as effectively as amplitude. Latency should also be reduced.

If you want to use gearbox tones as a VST, like amplitude, and without the Toneport interface you have to buy the Gearbox "plug-in" suite.

The cool thing about using GearBox (not the VST) is that you can leave Hardware Monitoring on, so you have reduced latency. Using the VST will introduce a little latency, so it's not as nice in that regards.
