I recently purchased Riffworks and been trying to save my riffs in a MP3 format. I was told to download Adacity. I installed it. Now every time I open Adacity and click on my saved riffs still in Riffworks format the Adacity program crashes. Also, I was told that Riffworks saves files in Wav format without a converter program. I have not been able to find this. Any help in these areas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Click the mix button at the top of Riffworks...........a window will give you the option to mix to WAV or OGG (High and Low quality) now import WAV to Audacity and save as MP3.

You should be able to import almost any 'normal' audio file in to Audacity. The problem you're having is that RiffWorks files aren't audio files. Their .rws extension ties them to RiffWorks kinda in the same way that a .doc file is linked to MS Word (if that makes sense?)
If you save from RiffWorks to either a .wav or a .ogg file, either can be imported in to Audacity and manipulated/converted from there.
You will have to download an add-on to Audacity if you want .mp3 files. It's all explained on their website.
Cheers!
Scott

Scotty speaks of the LAME encoder............and like he said, it's all explained there on the Audacity website.

I see you've joined the forum IbanezJunkster – welcome! I hope we can get you up and running soon. Follow the advice above and you should be able to convert to mp3 format. Please let us know whether or not you’re able to figure this out.

By the way, my wife is a speech pathologist, and Audacity (the same free version you downloaded) is used in her practice as well as by colleges, hospitals and schools. It is a great bit of software once you master it.

Scott (the forum member here) introduced me to it.
