I have no sound!

RiffWorks Recording Software (Mac/Win)

i am able to get a signal on riffworks now and in the corner where it sais input, there is a little meter. when i strum it goes up. but i cannot hear anything from my speakers. does anyone know the problem?

What equipment are you using? Guitarport, Toneport, Stealth....?

okay well i have my guitar chord plugged into an adapter that plugs into the microphone jack of a telex adapter that plugs into the usb port

Do you have the ASIO driver installed? Are you able to get into the Audio Setup in Riffworks? Button is located on the lower right. Then you should see the "control panel" buttone in that box.

I'm having the same problem. You can see the audio link on the lower right hand side.

I get sound from the headphone jack but not my speakers. I hooked up my speakers to the headphone jack for now. But would like to fix the problem.

Check your sound manager on your computer.

Check your options in the sounds area in your control panel. Sometimes you have to physically select recording and default device options. Make sure your levels and what-not are OK there. If you have on-board sound make sure no extra effects/utilities bleep is running along with it (usually installed and accessible via an icon down by your clock). AC97 harware often contains 'effects' stuff installed along with the drivers. There is usually an option to disable it though.
