riffworks wont activate

ive downloaded riffworks 1, the most recent version, whenever i try to activate it by clicking riffcast it comes up with the " to save riffworks must be activated...." message, the sonoma startup guide just says hit riffcast but obviously this doesnt work, any ideas?
