I have installed the GuitarPort + Online on a new notebook. I have an old version of Riffworks that I bought ... I'm thinking $99 ... to record some ideas and have fun with the instant drummer.

I'm sure there must be a patch or something ... as the Guitarport installation required new firmware updates, Gearbox, and a Line 6 Monkey. What's the best way to get Rifftracker transferred and working on the new computer with the GuitarPort.

I also have the TonePort UX2 on a desktop setup with Sonar 6 PE.

Many thanks!

Hi Kidzgolf, I'm going to make an assumption that the new notebook has Vista. I don't believe the original version of Rifftracker works with Vista, and you'll need to upgrade to either the Line6 version 2 or RiffWorks Standard.

The Line6 version upgrade looks to be here http://www.line6.com/store/storefront.html?categoryID=1

and the Crossgrade to RiffWorks Standard here http://www.sonomawireworks.com/guide/index.php/Riffworks_Crossgrade

As I recall the Line6 version is tied to a specific Line6 hardware device for authorization, you may be better off with the standard version if you want to use both the TonePort and the GuitarPort (or another HW interface). If you're just going to use one or the other the Line6 version would be fine. Standard does not have a dependency on any specific hardware.

I hope that helps!
