Hi,

I bought a Guitar Port and RiffWorks (2.10) for my 12-year old son, and we're currently battling with it, because we cannot seem to get RiffWorks to record.

We are using GearBox together with the Guitar Port. We are able to open Gear Box, and we can play fine, with the sound coming through the speakers.

However, when we load RiffWorks, even though we can still hear the guitar through Gear Box, RiffWorks does not "hear" anything. The input meter in the lower left is dead. Even if I try to play the metronome, we get no sound whatsoever.

I'm sure it's something as simple as what's plugged in where, but I've tried everything I can think of, and I'm having no luck at all.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Steve

Hi Steve & Son! Welcome to the RiffWorks forum,

Click the Audio button in the bottom right corner of the RW window and then check to see that GuitarPort is the chosen ASIO device.
Also, use the Line6 Monkey to check that all your software and drivers are up to date.
Cheers!
Scott

Hi Steve

Also try clicking on the hardware button near the bottom - the light should go out and you get a warning about monitoring and latency. Click OK to clear it. You should be seeing some action in the VU's down on the left when you pick or strum. If not, click the yellow link under the stereo button and choose another item in the list (one that isn't currently set) and play with the stereo button too. You *should* be able to get some noise out of it. This is just the input side, Scott has suggested getting the output side of things going. Post back and let us know how you get on.

Dave.

OK, I think this was the issue. For some reason, no ASIO device was showing up. I reinstalled the GearBox and RiffWorks software, and now everything seems to be working!

Thanks very much!

I tried to riffcast my last song, but it wouldn't let me.

RiffLink & RiffCaster have been offline Friday 11th - Monday 14th to allow copying of data across to a new server. It may go a little beyond that but I promise the wait will be worth it!
Cheers!
