Hi Everyone!

Thanks for your patience while we upgraded our servers. We're posting this info on the forums here before anyone else sees it. We want you guys to have the first look!

RiffCaster and RiffLink are ready and waiting for you to see at their new home: http://www.RiffWorld.com

Everyone's content has been moved over from the old locations, but there are a lot of new features. Please take some time and update your user profile. Add an avatar (icon) and a headshot image, tell us who your influences are, and write a little something about yourself and your music. You'll notice that everything is cross-linked, so you can find other users who are into the same music you are and invite them to collaborate.

A RiffWorks update is required to use RiffCaster and RiffLink with the new server. The updaters for the different versions will be rolling out over the next few days. We are staggering the release to help spread the server and support load out over a wider time period. First we will post the updaters for RiffWorks Standard v2.1.1.2801 (windows and mac). To get the updater, just launch RiffWorks Standard, and it will prompt you to download the new version. RiffWorks Line 6 Edition updaters (windows and mac) will be posted on Monday or Tuesday.

For information about how to do collaboration, please see the RiffLink guide page:
http://www.sonomawireworks.com/guide/index.php/RiffLink

cheers!
dug

UPDATE: RiffWorks Line 6 Edition updater (v2.1.1.2801) is posted for Windows. I'll get the mac updater posted as soon as possible. Hopefully by tomorrow evening.

Which version are you using? The update only applied to RiffWorks Standard and won't apply to the Line 6 version until Monday or Tuesday.

I'm using Standard, it's not updating. However, I've noticed over the last couple days that I don't ALWAYS get that message saying that the server will be down. Only happens some of the time.

I just started it over and over about a half dozen times just to check, nothing. It's not trying to update.

In addition to the info, I've got version build 2.1.0.2710. Is that the reason?
If so how do I update, can I download it somewhere?

We're working on fixing a small issue with the updater. Should just be a few more minutes.

UPDATE:

We have to make a tweak with the updater. Dug just stepped onto an airplane, so this won't be completed until 4 - 6 PM this evening. Sorry about jumping the gun. Hold tight. :)

Looks good so far. The site I mean. What's the "charts" tab gonna house?

Checked out the instructions, but the only thing I saw that was different than the rifflink we've been using was the "invite only" feature. Everything else looked to be the same. But then again, the beauty of rifflink is that it's no different than using RW.

Is there a "what's new in riffworks" page or something?

Thank you thank you thank you Sonoma! Like just about everyone else, I've been noodling around on Riffworld, and I'm happy to see many of the features I asked for in the past have been implemented. Though even I'm not arrogant enough to believe you did it just for me, it kinda feels that way :) I was able to delete songs I wish I'd never 'casted in the first place, fix a title on a song that I misspelled when I first uploaded it, just awesome! It's getting close to a real user control panel. Things are a bit slow now, but I imagine that's because your servers are getting banged harder than a new inmate in a county lockup. Thanks again Sonoma for listening to your customers!
