I hate to say it, but the majority of your problems lie in your older processor. Think about upgrading to a new machine to do audio with. It's not as expensive as you might think, and may even be cheaper than trying to upgrade the processor in your tablet.

Another thing I noticed is that it said your display settings are not adequate. If your monitor resolution is too low, it could cause some hiccups. Try right-clicking any open area of your desktop in Windows, and selecting 'Properties'. From there, select the 'Settings' tab and make sure your resolution is at least 1024x768, which will be good enough to run Riffworks. If it's at this level or higher, you can eliminate that as a source of the problem. Because of all the potential variables that can be involved, troubleshooting these things is usually a process of elimination.

All the suggestions that have been made so far are good, so I won't repeat them, and I'd advise you to try them.

My best piece of advice is DON'T GIVE UP! I had a few problems getting Riffworks to run properly on my machine (due to my own stupidity), but I can tell you it's definitely worth the effort! Riffworks is insanely addictive for a guitar player, and the community here is one of the friendliest you'll find anywhere.

actually, the processor itself is but a few years old but it an eco volt model especially designed for low power comsumption for exended batt life in his PC Tablet. Its more for surf and word processing apps, email, lighter duty stuff. Celeron M's I have heard have a little more edge to them over celerons in a normal desktop but still, 1.0 is 1.0.
