The senario is I did a few new computer builds. I downloaded the LINE 6 installer package on a new build. I can log into my key, get the drummers loaded..but I get an error code using the key to activate in Monkey. (its already been activated on another system)

So, do I have to buy a whole new full blown version key from Line6? or can I get a cross grade version + key to download off of the Sonoma Store?

I want to make this version a crossgrade and try using other ASIO devices
So I go to Line 6 website to purchase a new key, I can still use the same account login info?

I don't suppose I get a discount since I've already purchased. Is this going to cost me another 99 + the 29 to crossgrade.

I do have the survey 5.00 off coupon, can I apply it?

Your answers are appreciated, so thank you. I have a song waiting to be saved, just wondering how long this may take.. do I have to wait for a mail shipment?

Thanks!

Nah, there's no way you should have to repay for the software, you've already bought the license once. You are simply wanting to transfer it to another m/c. Lin6 support should be able to help. I did it with my setup just recently. I'm surprised it won't do it cos I thought the link was to your Line6 product not your computer...

if you were already using Riffworks Line6 version 2 you can a crossgrade to Riffworks standard for 29 dollars, I just did this last week.

You also don't get the new key for Riffworks from Line6; it comes from Sonoma...

Which Line6 product are you using? Your Monkey should just activate it and then you apply for the crossgrade from Sonoma....

And no, however it works its not a mail shipment the upgrade to the Standard version is all done via downloads, unless you ask for a CD which costs you more anyway...

Hope this helps....

Thanks guys, this helps.

You know what.. I bet its because I have a Toneport GI and a Guitarport and I was using the Guitarport on the new build instead of the Toneport.
I wonder if I can swap out the hardware device and then activate it that way...once monkey shows it updated and activated I would think I would be able to use either device with RW.

That was the dealio.

I forgot the hardware device stores the activation codes.
I was able to swap in the Toneport, activate Monkey and RW on that system...being able to save that song had me a little concerned as it still said I needed to activate RW even tho it had been activated and was showing green checks in Monkey.

I had to disconnect and reconnect the Toneport hardware device a couple times before it took to saving that song. I'm glad I gave it a few tries as I almost just dumped it thinking it wouldn't be savagable.

So, my next query is....
Will the key from the crossgrade activate RW to be fully useable on the Guitarport if RW isn't activated in that device?
I don't wish to keep swapping the Toneport from station to station. It would be more convenient to just have different devices per station. (I'd like to eventually go with a newer UX for vocals also)
I'm thinking I'm probably SOL unless I transfer the keys onto one device or shell out a higher amount than the 29.00, but if I'm wrong and that is not sooo the case, all the better!
I have a feeling this works alot like Steinberg software and the Syncrosoft USB keys which can be a pain in the keister when it ain't working right.

You hit on one of the nice things about Standard, it's not tied to hardware, so you can use multiple devices like you want. Crossgrade to the Sonoma version and you're done...nothing like Steinberg, believe me!

I see that. Riffworks Standard is standalone ..so that is why it works with so many ASIO's.
The Line 6 RWv2 is only compatible with Line 6 hardware

You all have a ton of information here. I had RIFFWORKs standard upgraded to v2 on my laptop and now what to transfer all of the software to my new computer. Everything works except the Monkey Line 6 says the key has been activated with an error Code 80003023 saying it already has been activated. Riffwork v2 says i still need to activate. What gives? Do you need to transer the license from the latop back and transfer again to new computer? Any ideas would help.

Do a fresh download (for RW Standard)from the Sonoma store (top of the page) to install on your 2nd computer......you should have several downloads left.......for the Line 6 stuff (Monkey , GearBox) just download from the Line 6 website directly......hope this helps ya man.

I bought another Gold Ed. Toneport G-DI.
I tried to use the activation code for RW 2.0 and it says I'm already activated, gives me an error code.
So, I'm still wondering back to square here....
Do I have to buy another RW package for the pther toneport G-DI, ...
or can I activate the same code for both devices?

Hey Tom you should be able to use them both although your model packs are/will only be on one at a time......if your using the Standard version of RiffWorks.....not sure about the Line 6 version.....maybe some Sonoma folk will chime in.
