Hey guys that is the Gearbox Silver VST plugin, it's a ridiculously great deal. You don't even have to use its interface, you can use any interface with it, its just a dongle.

In a tradition recording app you can run multiple instances of it, chain it together anyway you want, change sounds after recording, etc etc. I don't reamp, but if I did I'd jump on it. It's $199 to add the plug in to a device from Line6, so this is a killer deal. But only if you need it.

I don't believe all hardware interfaces will work with this. Unless I'm misunderstanding your POV. It will work with other DAW's.
I know I've gone to use my amp models from the Gold Edition of this VST with my Guitarport into RW, and the Guitarport will still want to 'get models'
It won't recognize the tones from the gold edition software unless I have them downloaded into the device and activated and, as far as I understand, you can only activate one device at a time.

I plunked out close to 3 bills for the Gold Ed though, and it was a MF blem with a 100 off coupon. Overall it has been worth it. I am just scratching the surface of the models in this and it was a far better value than getting the model packs installed.

I wonder if this can be activated on your guitarport tho, can't see any reason why not.

As long as the device is plugged in you can use any other device as the interface as far as I know. Thats why they give you the stripped down dongle, the market for this is to people who already have high quality interfaces. You can't transfer it to your guitarport though, but if you have that, why even use guitarport?

I haven't tried it with my other interfaces. Thats good to know tho as the tones I have used will come in handy. I have a Boss GP-10, M-audio black box, J-station, VG-8..all have been gathering dust since I got the gold edition of this into RW. Not to mention the other hardware I have for recording as well-mixers, firewire audiophile, Motu 2048. I've been too busy jammin to get this all squared away and setup.

I sometimes like guitarport because of the RCA's but ya, I've often been to the point of another item to eBay.

what the hell ever happened to backwards compatibility? So now if I buy a new OS, I have to buy all new hardware as well?? Screw Microsoft! I'm with Beau - I'll stick to XP for the next 5 or 6 years, because it works, and I don't have to replace all my peripherals.
