After hearing all the great entries for the latest Rumble, this idea starting swirling and sloshing around my head. What about an online radio station for Riffcasted tunes?

It seems to me that a good way to promote RiffWorks to someone who's never heard of it would be to show them what other people are doing with it. True, Riffcaster does the same thing, I've just got a good bit of experience doing online radio and I think it would be cool. Not only that, you could cover technical issues as well, and have interviews with famous celebrities like Mickey and Bill :P

With Creative Commons licensing, you wouldn't be forced to give half of your income to BMI and ASCAP like we used to have to, and you could start out using a third party solution like Shoutcast or Live 365 to gauge profit potential before you jump into an investment like your own Windows Media servers.

Just an idea. :)

Yeah, cool idea Pooter, count me in as a Disc Jockey or as Dick Joshy or Dick Head or whatever it is they call it nowadays :)

Just thought, if you're doing mp3's and ogg's maybe they call it a File starter nowadays or is that the same as an arsonist ?

Anyone with loads of spare time will get a prize for the best anagram they can get out of the expression.

I thought about throwing one together for the RiffRumble with all the songs, until I thought about individually downloading each one the time it'd take to set it all up. The contest would be over by then ;)

In the "olden days" we used to be able to get Podcast feed into iTunes that kept up with RiffCaster tunes, I wonder if that is still feasible?

So, if male DJ's are Dicks, what are female DJ's, Janes?

I was hoping the RSS feed was going to download all the MP3s for me. Maybe the good people at Sonoma can come up with a way to do something like this for future events. It would be really nice to listen to the songs away from the computer and then go back and look up the ones that really made an impression on you.

Or you could always do a vocal introduction to your song such as "Hi this is Jamie Nelson and this is my song titled "All For One" Then when you were listening to a bunch of them you would know who you were listening to and you wouldn't need a DJ.

Bill, if you figure out how to get paid to be a Dick Head, Go for it. I have a few other opportunities for you too. Go down to the lake and put worms on the hooks for people fishing, Master Baiter or if that doesn’t suit you maybe this will, You could setup shop and analyze people and give them therapy. You know an Analyst-Therapist or short Anal-Rapist

I think u guys just volunteered yourselves to start something here! Make sure Sonoma and the fellow artists approve and let's do it! Maybe Sonoma will volunteer the bandwidth if they are confident that we'll maintain the "dick jocks" and "moder-musicbators" for our lil' freak show :D
