Good afternoon,

I am trying to drive the Amplitube 2 Live VST plugin from within RW. I have a FCB1010 midi pedal, and it works with the Amplitube 2 Live standalone version.

I don't want to do anything fancy - just run the wah or turn a stompbox on/off mid-riff.

I have tried the standard tricks like running in RW in Administrator mode because Amplitube Live has to run in Administrator mode on Vista (I'm cursed with Vista). I can even see my standalone's controls from within the VST plugin but they don't control anything.

My big question:
Does RW block the midi signals from reaching the plugin?

TIA,
J

Unfortunately you will not be able to use the MIDI capabilities of any plugin with Riffworks. You will have to use AutoHotkey.. www.autohotkey.com and Bomes MIDI Translator to make that work. That is until Sonoma adds MIDI controller capability. I have that combo working with GuitarRig2.

Thank you. I'll try that out.

That looks ungainly - workable but ungainly - so complicated that I wondered if I should program my own interface to take MIDI codes from my pedal and do my own translation to keystrokes.

Then I thought - "Why bother. This is a HOBBY. I am being unnecessarily finnicky. I'm not even that good a musician <grin>. Record dry and post process."
