Hi there, the solution is:

You need to add a chainer/host VST instead of the amp( GR3).

First, get one of these:

All Freeware:

My preference:

Acon Effect Chainer: http://www.acondigital.com/us_EffectChainer.html
MultiFXVST - CTAF Audio - version 0.7.9: http://www.ctaf.free.fr

Or:

Psycle Modular Music Creation Studio: http://sourceforge.net/projects/psycle/
Wavosaur.1.0.1.0 Audio Editor and VST Rack, Host & Chainer: http://www.wavosaur.com/

Niall's Pedal Board: http://www.niallmoody.com/programs.htm
Cantabile Lite: http://www.toptensoftware.com/cantabile/
MiniHost: http://www.tobybear.de/p_minihost.html
VSTHost: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm + Add-ons: http://www.hermannseib.com/ToyleY/Default.htm
SAVIHost: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm

Or commercial releases like

Xlutop Chainer (a very good one)
Steinberg V-Stack
Sonicbytes Phasor and others.....

Then click on "instruments" and then "Effects" to go to the "Amp" section. You need to set the plugin path to the chainer, so that you can see it in the "Amp" dropdown menu. Then, all you have to do is to load the chainer and then, from the chainer menu to load the Guitar Rig, or Revalver or any other program or VST Effect - the options are limitless!!!

Please tell me how it works with Acon (I like it a lot, but for some reason I cannot see the GUI anymore - mayby there is a bug or something with my system. Otherwise, it was working perfectly for months. The other option I like - the MultiFXVST is identical to Acon, it is just that I prefer the design of it more and it also works perfectly!

Cheers,

By the way, there is one more way to make any standalone application (not VST) to work with Riffworks - you have to use Virtual Audio Cable (http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.html).

You connect the guitar to the standalone Guitar Rig 3 for example (or any other guitar or synth or drum!!!!) and then the audio out is using the Virtual Audio Cable to go into Riffworks (the same way you choose the audio card from "Audio Settings", but instead of M-Audio Fasttrack Audio card, for example, you see the Virtual Audiou Cable instead).

You can think of any configuration and the possibilities are really limitless!

Thanks for the great product to the developers!

I can't get Acon to work either, but MultifxVst works great. Thanks a bunch.

That's awesome!!! Thanks a lot!!!

So, I could say that by having Gearbox Bundle, Amplitube Live and now GR 3 (demo), I should die and rebor 4 lives to use them all?

Thanks a lot!! I dunno yet if I'm excited or depressed, I'm getting older and the first premise that people get when they get oplder is "Less is more"

Nah, let's use the whole stuff!

Congrats! Thanks for sharing that info and it's really great news, just one tiny question:

How is latency by using a chainer/host? Does it remain the same or you can get a little bit more latency? (or less which it would be excellent!)

Or does it depend on your ASIO soundcard/interface?

Thanks a lot for sharing this

It's a zero latency, everything depends on your setup. Glad it works for you, guys.

By the way, on the MultIFXVST there are some other cool freeware, like TODO List (http://www.ctaf.free.fr/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=meslogiciels#presentation), which is a vst shell, in other words, you can use WaveGTR3 plugins, wrap them up so that MultiFXVST recognizes them as VSTs. And you can do the same with DXi, but you need FXpansion Shell, for example.

There is a Hot Key soft as well (very cool).

garchev, me gona love ya looong time!!

That's the coolest thang with RIFFWORKS STANDARD, I've got an M-Audio(phile) 24/96 (remember to set it the sampling to 44100!! in order to make it work!) a Guitarport (which I'me selling these days, and a

Dongle Dongle Dongle (I still have a blast by saying and writing this word...) which is Toneport DI(-G)

Honestly, the M-audio has way less latency than Line6 Dongle Dongle Ding Dong Dongle

Thanks a lot!!

By the way if any of you own reaper as I do, You can use it as a pass through for GR3 to Riffworks and use the MIDI control capabilities to control GR3 and still use a Rewire Client to boot... I discovered that this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone can get any of the above software working with the STANDALONE version of GuitarRig 3 (not the vst plugin), let me know how you did it.

I installed Virtual Audio Cable, everything went fine, but unfortunately GuitarRig doesn't "see" the VAC I created in it's device list, so that won't work.

MultiFXVST would probably work, but unfortunately for me, the vst version of GuitarRig 3 on my computer doesn't hear any inputs, and doesn't respond to anything when ya click on it (a bug in GuitarRig), so vst is out for me.

I wonder if this would work for Waves GTR software? I've never been able to use that within RiffWorks. That would be soooooo sweet :D I'll give it a shot....

Thanks for the tips!!
