The drummer limitations are really annoying..

Today I cast a song we did in public collab and it's missing drums on some riffs. With 16 collabers in the song I couldn't afford to buy all the #$^*!@ drums to properly cast the song. Some of these folks put hours in to making a great contribution only to have their riff come out with no drummers.

Fortunately, their are some nice junkies out there like Sig who can help us by mixing drums to a layer - but hell he can't be expected to that for every song and we junkies can't be expected to buy every drum to prevent this..

Sorry for the rant and redundancy in this post, but It just bugs the crap out of me to see hard work lost because of limitations to the deployment side of the software. Pay to play.. Just like LA..The collaber bought the damn drums - let him deploy them in a song when he/she uses them - including in public/private collabs.

Please?
There's nothing left of my right brain and my left brain ain't right!

...at least it would be nice to hear if this issue is being worked on and if and when a remedy may be expected. To me, this is the single most unnerving bug? feature? in Rifflink, too...

I also added my drums ala Sigman so as everybody could hear..... I'll be damned if I'll be limited to the DEMO drummers ...................it's easy to do................with TonePort or GuitarPort (although Siggy uses his soundcard)..... with TonePort just mute all layers, put a 1/4 inch patch cord from analog out to input guitar and put the analog out at 5, hit record for one layer and unmute all layers voila !! All can hear the drums..........with GuitarPort just run headphone out to 1/4 in (after muting ALL layers) and adjust volume accordingly..........also uncheck the ID when your done recording your drum layer.

I have been thinking about the drums in Rifflink, how they are there sometimes, and other times there are no drums to play along with, just the guitars,so, I`ve been thinking about this, only as an idea, maybe for the next new Rfworks that comes out, I am not complaining at all here,I just simply had this idea, and wanted to mention it, for the drums in Rifflink,so Please hear me out on this idea,I don`t even know if it would work,it`s just an idea, and my opinon. Here is my own personal opinion on using Rifflink in the past...I really enjoyed using RIFFLINK when it was in Beta form, the way you had Full access to the drums, how they were always there,if you needed them,or wanted them, plus, the TOTAL ABILITY,to do what you wanted with the song, and drums, and the ability to alter the song mix, riffs, riffplacements, and drums and beats. My Honest opinion of this was that it was Great, allowing Collab musicians to fully modify the songs, how ever they wanted. I feel that Riffworks really allowed for the Creative Freedom of creating original Collaborations, without any limitations,on anything, including the drums, therfore allowing the Collab musician to be able to alter the song, however he/she felt, to use thier own creative ability with the songs, and the drums. All I am simply trying to say is that,I loved the way RIFFLINK worked in Beta, and I thought it worked and sounded awsome, the way you you could do what ever inspired you to do with the collab songs, to modify them or the drum parts. I am not at all complaining about Rifflink now, just wanted to mention this, and my ideas. I `m still not real clear on how the drums are set up to work now in Rifflink,I guess if you have the same drummer,I think you hear the drums also.I would like to say,as a musician, guitar player working on a Collab song(s),I feel you cannot Create anything truley inspiring on the Collab with only hearing a click track,or metronome in the backround, with no drums. The CREATIVE INSPIRATION for the Collab song you may have,is simply not there anymore, for me anyway. I Find it hard to even get inspired to play along,or create anything,to play on the Collab song(s),when there are no drums playing in the backround, and you have no clue even how the song sounds, what the beat of it is,how the drums sound, and all you have is a basic click sound, track.I have played recently on some Collabs that have had the drums playing on them. I TOTALLY can understand about the Original Creator of a song creating the drum parts, only to have there drum created parts altered, and having to redo it. It changes the song from the way the creator wanted the drums to sound for the song, to it being modified. But to be able to modify the song, however the collabing musician wanted to, including the drums, the way everything worked in Riffworks/Rifflink beta, I feel created total Insperation,Freedom and Creativity, for the Collabing Musicians who wanted to play on the song.(s) I felt that this is where alot of the magic was, with being able to freely Create and alter anything on the Collab,in Rifflink, the way the musician collaborating on the song wanted to, the same way it worked Previously in Beta form. I feel Musicians need this Freedom, with the drums, and everything else,For Insperation and Creating music as it worked in previously in Beta Form. Now, as I said,I am not complaining here at all, I am simply trying to make some suggestions, and put a few ideas out there to try and help improve,or atleast talk about Riffworks a little bit in general.I love Riffworks, and I am not complaining here at all, I`m simply trying to say I really liked the way Rifflink/Riffworks worked Previously, when it was in Beta form, But this is simply my own personal opinion about it. Which brings me to this idea, that I wanted to offer, and is the reason I`m writing this,is cause I wanted to mention this idea I thought of,maybe for the next new RIFFWORKS.... Here`s my Idea... How about,(just an idea,) for the next new Riffworks, Creating DUEL PLAYERS,Stacked (brown one at the very top,and Duel Riffs sections,Stacked, where all the colored riff blocks are),then somehow, use the very top brown song player TO PLAY BACK only the ORIGINAL CREATOR`S COLLABORATION,(with thier Drum Beats,)FOR THE SONG, FOR EVERYONE TO HEAR IT, in Rifflink, for the COLLABORATORING MUSICIANS TO PLAY BACK THE ORIGINAL SONG, (Lock it somehow, so the top player only plays back the Original Creators version of it,(with Original Creator`s Drums), and cannot be altered, but can be played back, and listened to,(Re-set the drums and everything back how it was in Beta form), Now, with the 2nd song and Riffs player section, allow Full access as it was in Rifflink/Riffworks in Beta Form, for the Creating collaborating musicians, to do what they want with the song, and riffs, block arrangements, and re-set the drums back like they were in Beta. Then when the Original Creator likes ,or is ready, and wants to Finish the song Collab to remove it from Rifflink, say to Riffcast it, the Original Song Creator can then drag the riff blocks from the 2nd Riff Block Section, or 2nd song Player, and drag the Riffs he/she likes to the top song player(Their own, Locked song player, only able to be modified by the Original Creator of the song,on the top of the screen, and allow the Original Creator to drag the colored Riff blocks into Thier own song, and player on the top ,and Complete and Finish the song to the Original Creators likeing.(Another words,2 Stacked dark brown Song Players, one above the other, and 2 (or 1),don`t know if you would need 2 Riff Block sections,Stacked, 1 showing the Original Creators song Riffs,Blocks, the 2ND RIFF SECTION, for all the music Collaborating musicians,to have Total control of the song, and the drums,as it worked in Beta Form, Allowing the Original Creator of the song,Collaboration,to drag Riffs,(colored blocks), from the 2nd song player,and/OR Whole Riff Section,up to the Top Song player,(the Original Creators song player,(which can only be moddified, and Unlocked by the Original Creator, for them to Finalize and Finish the song, and remove it from Rifflink to Riffcast ,if they choose to.I would really like to see Riffworks/Rifflink somehow go back to how it was in Beta, with Full TOTAL CONTROL of the Collaboratiing songs, I think this was alot of the fun,and magic, of it,was the Freedom to be able to do what you wanted with the song, and the drums to modify and help create the song,BUT I do realize that the ORIGINAL CREATORS songs, collabs, spend lots of time creating the drum parts, and altering the drums can totally change,or modify the songs. So, I think there has to be an (in-between) somehow, to reset Riffworks and the Drums back as they were in Beta Form, plus allowing the Collaborating musicians Total Freedom, to modify the song, and drums, as they please, (as it was previously in Beta), with the Original Creator having the Final ability to drag Riff blocks into his/her song, from the 2nd (whole riff block section,up to thier own locked song player, for FINALIZING and Finishing the song. (2 brown song players, 1 above the other, and 2 whole, seperate Riff Block sections),Stacked. Well, these are my own personal opinions on how maybe to help improve the next version of Riffworks a bit, just some ideas I wanted to suggest, I am in no way complaining about how Riffworks works now,I love Riffworks, and and very Happy and Satisfied with it as it works now!!! These were just some ideas, opinions, and suggestions on how to possibly add or modify it a llittle for Creating Collabs in Rifflink, maybe in the next version. I am very Happy with Riffworks, and I am only trying to make ideas and suggestions for it to try and help improve on it. I am in No Way Complaining about it,I only want to help improve it for the future, and Freedom of Totaly Free Control of The music song Collabs, without limitations in the creative process. THANK YOU for Listening to my ideas, and suggestions. THANK YOU.... TZSTRAT1

No, sorry, can`t do there, is it Uncle Bill??? How`s it going??? Hope I didn`t leave out anything, just been thinking about this, wasn`t going to even post it,but you know,if I didn`t think RIFFWORKS was such a Great recording program, along with GREAT people, and Support, I don`t think I would have even wrote or cared to write any of this.,But I THINK RIFFWORKS is an awsome recording program, with Great people at Sonoma, and Support, and Members, so, I hoped there was nothing wrong with a few ideas and suggestions.(I Just hope I don`t have to find an eraser for all of this!!!),just jokeing, but would delete large post above if needed.
