I need help!!! I purchased Riffworks Line 6 edition and Gearbox 3.5 Plugin. I thought from the Line 6 web site that I would be receiving a great plugin for recording in Riffworks but I can't figure out how to configure. How does Riffworks see GearBox? Where are the amps? I see on the Riffworks interface both hardware and effects but no amps. What am I missing. My audio interface is Pod XT.

Howdy Bob

Welcome to the madness.

If you open Riffworks, you should see a Hardware button at the middle bottom area. Click it and the red light goes out. Now click the Effects button underneath it and a half-size window opens. You will see the Amp dialog on the top left - click the small black down arrow and you *should* see all your plugins listed there, including gearbox. If not, click the Set Path menu item and browse for the plugin (though for maximum compatibility you should install all plugins to a common folder, usually C:program filesVST or similar). Selecting the gearbox plugin should open it. Make sure the box next to the word 'Amp' in that menu is checked (ticked) to use the selected plugin in riffworks otherwise it will do nothing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave,
I think that's were my problem lies. When I do that the half window with a right arrow is grayed out or inactive for some reason. I'm getting ready to do install of the software to see if that corrects it. Let you know how I make out. It is madness but the technology and the music make it worthwhile. I'll put the vst's in one folder as well.

My Plug-Ins aren't showing up in the recording application?
How do I do a plugin scan with Riffworks Line 6 Edition?

VST's do NOT work with the Line 6 version of RiffWorks. It'll have to be the Standard version of RiffWorks. The Line 6 version works only with Line 6 hardware........
In order to follow Davenz instructions you MUST have RiffWorks Standard.

her's another thread that touches on the subject.

Thanks for clarifying that Mickey - I was unaware the Line 6 version was VST crippled.
