You are probably going to have to supply more info for people to be able to pinpoint what is going on there. You use Vista? XP? Mac? Line 6 version? When does the error happen? On start? When you click record? What is the capital of Estonia?

Cheers

Thanks for the quick response. I am running XP and the error message comes up when I start Riffworks. I have the upgrade package that i ordered off of the Line 6 site.

Hi Joe

So you are using Riffworks Line 6 Edition.

Do you have the latest Line 6 stuff? Usually after installing it you are prompted to run the 'Monkey' to make sure your drivers and gearbox software is all up-to-date. This is a very important step as the whole thing is a house of cards if your software/drivers are out of date and will cause you endless problems.

What other music software do you have there, and is it running when you start Riffworks? What interface do you use, a Pod? Toneport? Some software doesn't like sharing the audio device with other applications.

When that error comes up, does Riffworks crash out completely? Do you get the option to save a diagnostic file? If so, support may require you send it to them so take note of what you may need to do.

Unfortunately I know squat about Riffworks so am of almost no use to you, but by narrowing down exactly what happens here the support team and developers (who regularly peruse this forum) will be able to get a better idea of what is going wrong for you and get you up and rifflinking in no time.

I went thru all of the steps to change software/drivers and all is OK as per monkey. I have not deleted my old version of Riffracker. When I start the new version of Rifftracker it does not crash immediately but I don't have access to everything. Wondering if I should have just well enough alone and stayed with the old version.

Even if you did stay with using the previous builds, ie; 2701, 2801, you'd still get prompted to update everytime you opened Riffworks, so,.. in my experience, its better to go with the update and roll with the punches.
