Any of you guys used a talkbox with a pod/RW setup before? Would like to get one, but only if I can record well without having to crank it (did I just complain about cranking it? damn I'm getting old).

I've used the traditional heil type box before, but remember that I really had to crank it to get the sound I liked out of it. There's another one though. The Danelectro Free Speech pedal. It's touted as being decent for recording environments. People openly bash it left and right for being horrible in a live environment, but I've seen a lot of praise for at-home use.

But where does it go in the signal chain? How do I get it into rw? If it's gonna be a hassle, I'll probably pass on it.

I haven't heard one yet in rifflink. I figured I'd wait until someone posted a nice quiet acoustic ballad and then just come in Sambora style on it oo wah oo wah oo o o wah!
"I think the problem might have been, that there was a stonehenge monument on stage in danger of being crushed, by a dwarf". "I really think you're making a big thing out of this". "Making a big thing out of it would have been a good idea".

Hey Beau, I've got a Danelectro pedal but I've never used it to record with. It can tend to be a bit 'hissy' playing live and it causes so many more wires, cables and tubes to be around. You've prompted me in to thinking about trying it but I don't know how I'll hook it all up. I'd normally tape the tube and mini-mics beside my Shure mic, but I don't know how I'd do that with my cradle-mounted condenser mic and pop shield.
Nothing like a challenge though ...

Frampton/Sambora, here we come! :)
Cheers!
Scott
