Rewire not working?

I was trying to use Reason with RWS tonight....and for some reason I cannot check the rewire box under backups. I can select it and all, but not check to enable it.

Everything else is working fine, all of the other backups will enable/check....but not rewire. I can hear the stuff in Reason, and RWS playing but can't get it into RWS. Is there some sort of glitch with this? I am using Vista so maybe that is it

Any suggestions? Can anyone help me trouble shoot this issue? I am using the latest version of RWS, with Reason 3, and Vista. If you need more info let me know.

I uninstalled and reinstalled RWS, still no dice......

Never mind, I installed the rewire patch for Vista....all is working fine now

I had the same problem. Line 6 edition of Riffworks. Tried several times of opening the programs in the correct order and finally ran Line 6 monkey to look for updates. There were none, then I tried it again and I could check the box and see the slaves with ease.

I'm glad you were able to get Reason and RiffWorks working under Vista. However, we have a few customers that are not able to get that combination working under Vista. I'm having the same problem in fact.

Can you tell me which version of Reason you're using? Did you also update the RiffWire.dll?

Hey Randy. I am using 3.0.4......I am not sure but there is a 3.0.5 I think. The version of Reason is not the real issue. I had to install a separate patch to install rewire/rex for vista. I uninstalled and reinstalled both RWS and Reason and even with the base version of Reason 3 it works after the rewire/rex patch. Users with version 4 should not have the issue, but I still have read many reported cases stating otherwise.

3.0.5 is Mac. 3.0.4 (Windows) needs the updated ReWire for Vista as Shred said. Version 4 already has the Vista dll.
I haven't payed much attention to version 4 nor Vista.

I'm aware of the updates, and have installed them myself. I've also had our customer(s) do the same, but it hasn't resolved the crashing problem.

We'll look into this more,
