Can I record record something from a rewired application? For example, I rewired Reason with a drummer (Jamstix 2) with RW as a host and all seems to be working fine.. However, when I try to record a riff, nothing's recorded.

When using Reason ....you have to have the timeline slide thingy's in Reason matched to your riffs in RiffWorks......when you record they will NOT show up as a layer but if you riffcast or mix 2 WAV they will be there provided you have the appropriate Reason file locked and loaded.....

Mickey's right. Rewire works more like the instant drummer in that it doesn't necessarily record the output. However, "mix to riff" is one way to get a riff recording of your Rewired tracks....

mickeymix, thanks for the reply.

Did I write Reason? I'm sorry, I meant Reaper. But it probably refers to any rewired application.

Anybody else on this - why can't I record a rewired application in RW?

What am I doing wrong?

Riffworks won't actually record what is in Reaper (or Reason) but play it along with the RiffWorks file. It also plays along when you mix to wav/ogg/riff and will show up in the mixed file.

I'm impressed that you got Reaper to work through ReWire!? I've tried on both, Windows XP and Vista and had no luck. How are you getting Reaper to play with Riffworks? I see Reaper in the Rewire section but the audio in Reaper doesn't play (i.e. no sound). Any tips on this??

Garchev

you can record the reaper output as a layer using rearout. If you didnt install rearoute, reinstall reaper and mark the corresponding option. Then select rearout in RW as audio device. The routing options in reaper are of course endless.

blue4u,

for me reaper works fine as rewire slave. Maybe you have to adjust the loops in reaper?
