Hope this Utility comes handy.

Download RWKontrol

It Must be Launched after Launching RW and it will not work if RW is minimized.

Playback and Recording - Equivalent to Sending Keyboard Shortcuts for play and record.

But these can be triggered from midi like from a midi keyboard or footswitch.
To assign a midi to a button . right click the button and press your keyboard button or switch.

hope newer versions of RW incorporate more keyboard shortcuts and some sort of midi input, till then this silly utility may help some (only tested on winxp sp2 though)

Is this for Play and Record functions only? Will it also Stop and Pause? Thanks Atalwar :)

It Should I Think as it does whatever RW functions do. Enter( or ctrl+M) and spacebar i think.

Like while recording you hit play then rw switches to play mode.

if playing it pauses i think and vice versa.

I can't test it right now as the drive RW is on Crashed this morning. ;)

Wow! I just saw this thread... Lately, bro, you've been reading my mind. This is a very cool solution for us riffworks fanatics who like to have foot control. I usually just throw a keyboard on the floor, but that can be tricky hitting record, "enter" with shoes on.

Can I use more than 1 software at once? Example... change effects in gearbox + record & play in Riffworks?

How many assignable features can I access with this program? Junt & Arm available?

Cheers,
Aj

I didn't actually get what you meant.

This is a very simple application that just emulates you pressing keyboard shortcuts in RW.

It takes midi input and triggers Rw shortcuts.

? How many assignable features can I access with this program? Junt & Arm

?.A : Currently only play and record as there are no other shortcuts in RW i am aware of.

If anyone Knows more keyboard shortcuts in RW kindly let me know and i will incorpoate them (alt+F4 is another shortcut but i doubt any use for it ;) ).

Perhaps in future version RW Team adds more shortcuts or can have midi input built in for functions etc.

i use it with a korg microkontrol / tv remote via winLIRC and many times midi over network to trigger recording on a different computer.

When I have RW Kontrol running in conjunction with my behringer foot pedal, will I be able to operate gearbox using the same foot pedal, simultaneously?

Cheers,

Aj

I can't Guarantee that due to midi ports etc setup.
RW Kontrol does not ask for exclusive acces to the midi port so you might just be able to.

You can also maybe use MIDIOX for any midi mapping onto multiple devices.
