For anyone with a Tascam US428 laying around (I had cuz it wasn't working with Vista).

Well I just discovered that as of last Oct ('07) they released vista 32+64 drivers!

So I am now running with riffworks + us428 + vista 64 and it all just works!

So when can we get some way to configure a DAW to use with riffworks???

Gordon.

PS I can set up the BOME Midi Translator to emulate the Enter and Space keys, but that is all....

I've had nothing but trouble with my 428. It doesn't want to play ball with my Creative and Line 6 drivers which is a real bummer cos the quality of the audio throught the TASCAM is way better than through my TonePort.
Cheers!

I assume you have tried the "new" drivers?

My rig:
Variax 500->VettaII(via RJ45)->US428(via spdif)->Vista64 + SP1(via usb)->Riffworks(via asio)

I have an creative audigy zs2 installed and working (as well as a nforce4 sound card).

I did get 1 blue screen during my setup, I dropped the bit depth to 44.1/16 for everything (in and out) and have not had it since - dunno if it was related or not.

I had given up on ever seeing a 64bit driver for the US428, so was well pleased when I found them!

Gordon.

PS (I had just reinstalled XP Pro 32 on a dual boot, but havn't bothered to play with it yet).

I'll probably give them a go but I got so pissed off with blue screens that I gave up.
Cheers!

Ironically the easiest way for me to get a bluescreen was to plug in my Guitarport!

One other useful thing with the US428, is the ability to use the sliders to change the "monitor" volume (and the master volume slider works as the master volume).
