Hi,

I just installed amplitude,stealth plug and RF2 and i can hear the guitar (with a but of a delayed reaction i might add) pm the amplitude 2 but when I open RF2 I can't hear the guitar. I can transfer the amp 2 sounds to record on the RF2 right? I think it has something to do with the ASIO devise under audio set-up because it doesnt show any options under ASIO device. how to I get the stealth plug listed under the ASIO device to get it to work?

RF2=?, you mean RW2? riffworks?

I installed AmplituBe the other day as well. I noticed a slight bit of latency also with this which would render it pretty much useless for recording in comparison to L6 software unless the purchase of a stealthplug would bring it to almost nil latency.

As far as ASIO, there is a Generic universal ASIO called ASIO4ALL. I have yet to test it but it is said to work well. Do a search, you'l find more about it.

However, none of my blurbing here is likely what you are looking for in the long run...so maybe a contact email to support. After all, they are 'THE WORD' on this type of stuff since they make the bread n butter off it.

If you email them, they'll open a case file for it. They may not always answer on the support section of the forum as it may not get noticed as it seems it is randomly checked (email seems to get checked more often-but may get overlooked in the cueue..) at least there you have case number. If you don't get a reply to email within a 2-3 days, email em again.

KrisG, you have to open up amplitube from within Riffworks. At the bottom where it says monitor press the hardware button so that the red light goes out. Then click the effects button under the hardware button. A window should open, and to the far left select Amp. Amplitube should be an option. Select it and you are away. Tom, if you are getting latency with Amplitube you can alter the buffer size by clicking the audio setup button, opening the ASIO control panel and moving the buffer slider. However, this may sort you latency out but it might introduce crackles on playback. It's trial and error I'm afraid to get the best setting.

I do remember that now. Would I want start with smaller packets, mid or large to reduce latent ms? Thanks for reminding of that tho. I guess its like you say, just a matter of trial n error to get the ideal setting.

Not smarter or wiser KrisG, just passing on the info I received when I had the same problem. :)

Tom, I have my slider set at extra small, but I still get some latency with amplitube, but it's useable. If I move the slider too far to the left I do get crackles on my playback, but I've only got 1gb of ram. If you have more Ram you might be ok with lower settings. It's all related to your computer setup (I think). But just play around with it because Amplitube is worth the effort; although the model packs I've recently got for Gearbox mean I use that most of the time now.
