Hi there,

I was experimenting with some VSTs and RW and it crashed a couple of times. After this, when I start it, it take roughly a minute to start. During this minute I can see the RW in the task manager. I uninstalled, cleared registry entries and installed again. The first time it was OK. After another crash (I was again experimenting), it started to be slow again. What could be the reason?

I remember reading somewhere, that there is an XP service that does something with programs that crashed and it might be this...

My system is XP Media Center Edition, SP2, 3G RAM, Intel Dual Core.

Hi Garchev,

So after the crash, after restarting computer RiffWorks still acted slow?

Not all VST plugins are compatible with RiffWorks, so you're doing the right thing by playing around with a bunch. Will you report back here with which ones have worked and haven't worked for you?

Randy,

Yes, after a restart RW acts the same. I need to uninstall and clear all registry settings and install again to make it start properly.

As per the VSTs, there are so many now, both free and commercial, it would be hard to name.

What I rather think is that we need a list of good VST chainers and VAT hosts and DAWs, which we can load via the RW VST amp.

If you have a DAW/host or a chainer working properly with RW, then you can add any VST (or, say most) in the DAW/host...

Best,

Roughly how many VSTs do you have installed on your computer?
