I recently installed Riffworks from the Line6 CD that came with my GuitarPort.

I am running Vista32, and after I installed Riffworks, both Internet explorer and FireFox crashed when I tried to access a webpage that is Flash based, e.g. Youtube. The problem stopped once uninstalled, but when reinstalled, the problem came back.

Windows Media Player and the rest of my media players also crash when loaded.

Has anyone heard this problem before? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Howdy

I am running Vista and have had no issues like the ones you mention. I also haven't heard anyone else here reporting them. It might be a sound driver issue; have you set the default sound device in the Control Panel to your Toneport? Do you have other soundcards installed? I know with Media Player Classic I had to point it in the right direction soundcard-wise when I installed my Toneport because for some reason it didn't auto detect it, even when set as the default sound device.

When your browsers crash, do you get any error messages? Are you running the latest version of Flash?

Dave.

Yeah, the GuitarPort is set as default. No idea what could be causing it, though after thinking about it I remembered I had a similar problem on my old XP computer, didn't involve riffworks though. I think it was some problem in the registry.

If not, I have no idea what is causing it. I have the latest Flash version. My browsers don't give an error message, they just stop responding.

Cheers.

Edit: Turns out it's a sound problem, nothing to do with Flash. I'm using the Realtek HD Audio Manager, perhaps it's just a setting I need to adjust. I do find the audio manager a bit confusing because I'm not much of a computer buff. I'll spend some time Googling to find a solution.
