Hey, I'm hoping to get some questions answered here.
I downloaded the Riffworks demo and really like it!
However, there are a couple of questions I have to have answers for before I go to the next step and buy the full version:

First, I already have the Stealth Plug and Amplitube 2 Live, the problem is that I cannot open Amplitube through Riffworks to access my sounds. Is this just not possible to do with the demo version, or am I doing something wrong? When I click on the "AMPS" menu, I don't see an option for Amplitube Live...or any amp for that matter.

I know that Riffworks comes with Amplitube 2 Live...is there a version of Riffworks available that I could buy without Amplitube 2 Live as I already have it from purchasing the StealthPlug?

Secondly, it is really less that desirable to use the Riffworks program with the screen resolution as it is. When I change to the recommended resolution, it makes my whole computer too small to read. There is a pop up that states that other versions with different resolutions are available...how do I make sure that I purchase one with the right resolution for my machine?

Please help me out...I'm ready to get rid of the limitations on the demo version and buy the full Riffworks program.
Thanks!!

Hiya zzzzzz

As far as I know there are no stripped down versions of RW for sale - one price for the full version or an upgrade/crossgrade for less. You are not alone - many people here already have the amps but I guess two licenses wouldn't hurt.

As for the amps not showing up, make sure your plugin path is set to c:program filesvst and that the AmpliTube2live.dll file is in that path. Alternatively you can set the path using the *Set Plugin Path* to the folder your AmpliTube2live.dll file currently lives in. For most applications, having a common VST folder in the Program Files area is recommended as then you have all your eggs in one basket. Once the plugin files have been located and path(s) set, the amp should now show in the Amp list.

What screen size do you have? I use 1280 x 1024 on my 19" panel and Riffworks looks great, though some use higher than that. The problem with designing an interface that stretches (or shrinks) to fit a wild variety of screen sizes is fitting it all in, which is why this size is fixed and there is a recommended screen size for best usage. Hard-of-sight people might use HUGE screen sizes, but unfortunately they would not be able to use the software unless they moved it around in order to see every corner. This is the reality of software design; you can't cater for every possible taste. That said, there has been discussion here and the devs have talked about making it in different sizes. I'm not sure about the popups you mention saying different sizes are already available; it doesn't gel with what I have read here in the forums, though just because I have not heard of it, that doesn't mean it isn't true!

Hope this helps. You won't regret making the jump and buying it; rifflinking is great fun and you get to 'jam' and collaborate with some pretty amazing musicians.

Dave.

Thanks for your response Davenz.

I have still not been able to get the Demo RW to "see" my Amplitube 2 Live, even after I attempt to point it towards the VST Plugins file or the amplitube.dll file I located...these are both in the same location.

I am wondering if the Demo is not allowed to connect to my existing software.

Oftentimes I receive a popup stating "This appears to be a Root File...please select a subfile"...and when i do that, it does nothing.

I did change the resolution on my PC and no longer see the popup stating that my configuration is not the correct one. It did say that "other resoutions of the software MAY be available for download" upon intial loading.
Anyway, that has become a very unimportant factor at this point!

i did attempt to reload my Amplitube disc, but there seems to be no change.

I guess it's back to the drawing board, but I do appreciate your efforts to help me.
Thanks again.

Hmm, that's really strange. As far as I know there are no limitations as to the amplitube thing so that can't be the problem. If we hold our breaths long enough, perhaps one of the sonoma crew will chime in and give some pearls of wisdom. You could always email support@sonomawirewoks.com and open a support ticket; this will get things rolling.

I have just heard from someone at IKMedia, and he confirmed for me that the Demo version will not accept plug-ins.

I had always suspected that.

Now, to get those lost hours messing around with all this stuff back...!

Is that right?
I use a StealthPlug...wouldn't that not work with the Line 6 version?

make sure you dont buy from line6,their version is keyed to worl only with line6 hardware.even the full version of line6 wont run vst plugins, like amplitube.you have to buy the standard version from sonoma.it willwork with almost any audio card including line6 products.
it also runs vst plugins.
Nothing is impossible for the person who doesn't have to do it.
