okay i just downloaded RiffWorks and i am having a hard time trying to get sound to my PC speakers, i am running a laptop, and i have been reading these forums for a couple of days and i am getting no where is it that i just have to plug headphones into my toneport DI or can i play my record music on my laptop speakers?

I plug my phones into my toneport headphone socket - sounds great.

it is as you say in your last sentance. You may be able to rig some y-cable up to plug into your soundcard if you want to have it audible outside of headphones while rec.

If you want to hear RW through the speakers of your laptop, you have to install ASIO drivers like asio4all. http://www.asio4all.com/ (it's free).

Toneport has its own ASIO driver, so you need asio4all *only* if you want to use RW with your laptop speakers (which is sometimes useful)

Parr is correct, I previously had the beta version which had major conflicts with my soundcard (Creative SB) This has all been resolved and the new vers of ASIO4ALL should work fine for reseting your output to your computer soundcard.

However, if you dont like to install asi4all, just wait for the next version of RW coming next week!

It supports directsound for playback (not for recording).
