Curious to hear how this works for others.

Here's the info about the free AmpliTube X-Gear download for AmpliTube 2 Live which is included with RiffWorks Standard: http://www.sonomawireworks.com/news-2008-05.php#x-gear

I downloaded it to use with the full Amplitube but it didn't like my A2 serial number. I haven't had time to follow up and see what I'm missing though.

Gator if you log into your IKMultimedia users area after downloading you will find the new serial and code in there.

I have tried it and the only downside is the amount of lag when using it via RWS hardware monitor; I am probably just spoilt because with Gearbox/TonePort there is zero perceptible latency.

From what I did try there were some nice sounds, far too many for me ever to use infact.

Hi Dave,

Reducing the buffer size on your ASIO settings might help.

Cheers,
Michelle

I don't know if you can do this with GuitarPort (I think you can with the POD and Toneport) but...

...if you find a tone you like in Amplitube but the latency is bugging you, set the tone and turn hardware monitoring back on. Set the TonePort to send the dry signal to Riffworks while you play to the Gearbox's tone. This should give you that no-latency feel and end up with an Amplitube sound on the recording...at least I think so! ;)

Is that the same as when I talk very sensibly and it sounds like a load of old bollocks to everyone else JJ ???????????
No-one remembers what you do or say. Everyone remembers how you made them feel. Allegedly !!!!

Thanks Michelle, though even set quite low the lag is noticeable now that I'm used to the Gearbox/TonePort combo. I'll try JJ's idea and see if it flies...

I wasn't able to get it to work for me either Michelle....but I'll get over it..........it also didn't like my serial.......and it's NOT in my IK Multi downloads either just Amplitube LE.....not the 2 Live version......so I was also never able to install Amplitube Live on my laptop........even though I got it from My Downloads in the Sonoma store (serial too)........but I won't miss it...........the bulk of my recording is done on my PC using GearBox.
