Songlayer mix up (need to rewind them?)

I've been wondering if you encountered the same or similar problem:

When recording songlayers, the metronome click always stays on time, but layers may play out-of-sync. This makes recording a new songlayer obviously VERY difficult. As stupid as this may sound: if I go to every single riff in the song and click "play" after recording songlayers, they sometimes start in the middle or somewhere else, but not always at the beginning. So I click "play" and "stop" so that the marker is back at the start. And then, more often than not, it works.

Do others have this problem with not-rewinding layers? What is the cause? Songlayers?

This is not peculiar to you, if I start a song playing in a random place along the songlayer quite often it all gets out of sync. I think this has been talked about before and I seem to remember it had something to do with RW fetching the layers etc from memory. Instead of clicking stop/start try clicking forward/reverse this should sync it from the start of a riff, it usually works for me
