Not sure what the deal is?

I bought RiffWorks about a Month or so ago and have used it about ten times since buying it. Well I'd say 8 out of 10 times that I used is right when I'm in the middle of messing around with some drumbeats from instant drummer that I bought the program crashes.

Can I find out what the deal is as to why it keeps crashing?

I also received an email about an update, and it says there is a fix for the program crashing and it said that it would be up on the forum this Week. The email was sent May 30th.

Is the update out yet, or am I missing it or something?

I don't mean to come across angry or anything. I understand that programs can have problems, however it's to the point now where I won't even use RW to do my recording because of the crashing.

any help is much appreciated,
Thanks

You're going to have to give a little more detail as to your computer specs, audio interface....etc for the guys to help you out on this one CB..........or even try filling out the support form here...........

http://www.sonomawireworks.com/support_form.php

The update hasn't come out yet ........but when it does (hopefully anyday now) , when you fire up RiffWorks , you'll be prompted to update automatically.............

hang in there bud.. :)

I have been having the same problem with crashes. I am not sure if it is gearbox (I have a Line 6 KB37), or Riffworks as they are usually both on at the same time, but it just puts up an error message that it must quit along with load noise. It makes me not want to use it too much for fear of doing some damage.

If you are getting a loud buzz as everything crashes, it points to the Line 6 sound driver as being the culprit. There is no damage done to your gear, but whatever song you were working on at the time may be compromised. If you are prompted to save anything, do so, and when restarting RW, if you are prompted to recover your last song, do so as well (if you want to recover it that is).

Thanks for the help davenz. Does anyone know if I need to update the driver or what can be done to fix the problem? Maybe it will be fixed in the new update?

The program update is virtually here but has one or two last minute tweaks they want to do, so we are being told. Hang fire, I don't think it will be too long. I do not think this update will totally resolve your problem though. I'm sure part of your problem is the Line6 ASIO drivers, they are temperamental and are left in a sorry state when anything goes slightly amiss with Riffworks. Quite a few of us are using Line6 gear, Pods, Toneports etc and have to put up with kind of thing. Definitely do as Davenz has suggested, also most of us have got into the habit of unplugging and re-plugging the USB cable "WITHOUT" Riffworks running, this will reset the ASIO drivers for you, ready to restart Riffworks. Keep saving what you record on a very regular basis mate :)

Hope this helps,
