Like you recorded a 16 bar take and now want to break it into 2 separate riffs (8 bars each ) or 8 riffs (2 bar each) (15,1) (8,7,1) or any combination you deem necessary.

That's cool! And can you port those riffs into another riffworks project, or just within that project?

RiffLearner - I Suggest you download it, install it and read the included help file. It's got all the instructions explained in detail.

as For your question : Intelliriffer works on exported Riff Files from RW and you have to import them back in. so Yes you can import those into any project.

Amit, intelliRiffer is awesome but I'm having problems and am wondering if you monitor the forum here? If so, the program seems to be working fine. I have my list of layers in the left panel including an new imported wave file and when I "save riff," the cursor moves from file to file down the list of files including the new file. However, when I import the riff back into Riffworks, the new wave file is not there. I am using Vista...is that the problem? I was successful in doing what I described above two days ago but then started getting some run time errors during exports so decided to upgrade Riffworks to the latest version. So, now I'm totally confused! I will say that the times it has worked sucessfully, this little progam you made is a god send!! Thanks! (I'm using V2.0.1 Beta).

Hi Geocare,
First are you importing into an existing riff or creating a new RIFF.

Have you checked your wavefile. It Should strictly Be 44100 Hz or 44.1 Khz 16 Bit Stereo Wave File (uncompressed PCM)

Also when you save the RIFF you should get the message File Saved Successfully in the bottom status bar.

My RW version is 2.2.1.2930 and it seems to be working fine on RW here.

Also before saving the RIff do check by double clicking the wave layer in left list that the wave file has been assigned to the layer.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for responding. I'm importing a 44.1 16 bit wave file from Drumcore into an existing riff. I do get the message file saved successfully at the bottom. I've gone through this process before, as I said, and it worked. Now it doesn't but it appears as though it is. I'll reboot and see if that helps. It has been known to solve many problems.

Sorry to bring my issue to the forum but, Amit, I did send an email to your Gmail account on this matter. Hopefully, Riffworks users who want to import wave files into riffs as layers will gain something from this. I rebooted and then loaded one of the riffs that I had added wave files to (earlier, using intelliRiffer) back into your program and all the files that I had added previously are, indeed, listed in the left panel. Double clicking on any of the added wave files plays it and I can hear it. I saved the riff to a different name and imported it back into Riffworks and all files BUT those added wave files come back into Riffworks. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong insofar as this worked fine just day before yesterday! Any other ideas on your part?

Does intelliriffer work with Vista? When I went to install I got a message this message
minimum system requirements for this setup were not met
operating system: windows xp, windows server 2003 (no sp)

I am running Windows vista service pack 1 with 4 gig ram and Riffworks standard works fine

thanks, Ron

Hi Ron,
Some users have been able to use it in vista.but since i don't use vista i cant confirm it.

There are a few bugs in current version that have been fixed. but i havent been able to get time to bug test the newest version, hopefully this weekend i might get couple of hours to dig into it. and release an updated version and will activate vista in the install package.

Thanks atalwar, I will be looking for it....I still have riffworks installed on a computer with XP so maybe I will try it on that one until the vista fix. Thanks again.
