I was just wondering if SWW is going to get into the Amp modeling/effects business? When I click on the Amp plug in drop menu, I have some great choices like Amplitube live and Gearbox and now Revalver (demo). I know how you guys (and gals) at SWW Central are very responsive to the requests of your users, so I thought it would be cool if we could request more preamp/power amp models for vocals or a class a vox ac-30 plug in for example. I keep looking at the "Get More Amps" option and thinking it would be way cool to purchase them similar to the ID's that we can choose now. Any thoughts????

I would volunteer to travel the country on Sonoma's dime, tracking down the awesomest examples of vintage and boutique tube amps for Sonoma to model. I would even test drive each one for a few hours - you know, just to make sure it was up to snuff. ;)

It's a difficult job, but somebody's got to do it :D

I don't think Sonoma would get into creating amp software, but is a distributor of others software a la IK Multimedia. I haven't tried in a long time but I think "Get More Amps" is supposed to redirect you to the Sonoma store.

It would be awesome to have Sonoma create anything we want (and send us on the road to find it...with beer money!) but I just don't think that's in the cards. But if they do decide...I have dibs on the Carolinas! :D

That's a good point. I just like the way that you have a choice of what you want at only 10 bucks a shot like the Instant drummers ya know what I mean. It would be great if IK and SWW could work out an agreement to offer a particular rig for example, with some tweakable effects/stomps etc, for a few bucks. I don't even know if that is possible but shelling out 300.00 US is a bit much for me. Livin in the home of the free, we're used to choosing our own health care etc.... Just like to have those kind of options at a reasonable price.

And if Sonoma does take up the offer to get into the amp software biz, Bill could get out of the front yard and use some of those travelocity air miles..... :)
