I wonder, I'm using a edirol UA-101 now, it is running like hell!!
but, there is a problem somehow the rw says some times that it is not
able to run because it needs asio.

at that moment reason and flstudio are still starting up.

What is RW doing at those moments that it doesn't see the edirol, is it doing something wrong in the background that i do not know about!!!

after some time switching between the pod back to the edirol it will go
again, but i would really like to understand the problem.

greetings hans

I would imagine you are probably getting the same problem that happens with the Line6 UX2, unplugging and re-plugging the USB cable without Riffworks running is probably the way to sort it out Hans :)

that is indeed what i need to do, but some times it then even does not see the pod
any more, that is the strange thing that happens here.

it has to be a bug in rw i hope they can do some about this.

for the rest still smiling :):)

You are not alone, I have a Line6 Toneport UX2 and Pod XTL plugged in at the same time and sometimes when the UX2 disappears it takes the Pod with it. Usually it is the UX2 ASIO drivers causing the problem and I'm not sure that Sonoma can do much about it, my understanding is it's reticence on behalf of Line6 to make their Asio drivers more stable, allegedly ;)

So when i understand this, you can also say that rw is still to much linked to the line 6 devices!!, but i bought standard to get away from that problem.

No, I'm not saying that, I'm suggesting that maybe the Edirol Asio drivers are suffering from the same problem as the Toneport UX2 drivers. Dug has said that internal errors that occasionally occur in Riffworks leave Asio drivers in a bad state. I'm certainly no expert but if it's happening with drivers from 2 different manufacturers maybe it's a problem that Sonoma could look into further, time permitting :)

Have you tried using the Edirol with the Pod unplugged ???, maybe it's the Line6 Pod drivers causing the problem

ok i undestand what you mean.

I tried all kind off combinations, but somehow the problem chances so i can not
find the real problem, the only thing is that reason does not have any diff to the asio channels.

the problem however is solvable but not handy, i try to live with it

i can agree with this all but is it to consider to look at the diff between how reason find
the edirol and RW when we can find the diff. it could solf a lot off the problems.

i have to say i'm not a expert, in this but this seems a logic tought!!
