Hi all, everything worked fine before the last update..I played fine with the pod xt for over an year. Now the rec button doesn't make effect , I can click it but it doesn't rec .

I have riffworks pod xt edition, I play only with the pod.

Before this problem it gave to me an error for ASIO drivers, but after the installation of ASIO4ALL that error message seems to be gone..

PLEASE HELP! Thank you very much.

Hi, reading your message i must say that using asio4all in combination
with your pod is very odd, i've got one to but i'm sure that you own gear
with asio , asio4all is a kind off simulation but you realy got the asio in your pod, i would prefer not to use aso4all, and let monkey do its work i never had any problems that way.

danielrose -
I agree with Hansanneveldt on this. Your PodXTs don't need ASIO4All drivers, though if you have them installed you would be able to use them with the Pod. That's highly inadvisable being that the Line 6 drivers have always been extremely stable.

Unless you need them for another device, I recommend uninstalling the ASIO4All drivers and then using the Line 6 Monkey to confirm that your Pod's drivers and firmware are completely up to date.

If you need to keep the ASIO4All for all drivers for some reason, you need to make sure that you click the AUDIO SETUP button in RiffWorks and select the Pod from the list of ASIO devices. This may not totally fix the problem with the ASIO4All drivers. If RiffWorks crashes again, before re-launching RiffWorks after it crashes, send us the RiffWorks.log file. It's located in My Documents - Sonoma Wire Works - RiffWorks. You can send it via email to support@sonomawireworks.com along with a description of the problem and a link to this case.

Thank you,
Randy

bilbo -

Can you please confirm that you're having the exact same problem as the original poster, including the ASIO4All errors? I'd also like to see your log file after a crash. See my instructions to danialrose above.

Thank you,
Randy

btw randy did you see my post about the edirol, RW somehow does nor find it sometimes
its really hard to understand why, because reason does have no problems finding it at the same moment.

Are you having problems with RiffWorks crashing? That, or something else could be causing the Edirol drivers to crash. If they crash, then you would need to unplug and re-plug the Edirol back in before RiffWorks would recognize it again.

The next time RiffWorks does not see the Edirol, please send us the RiffWorks.log file. The logfile shows in detail which ASIO devices are available.

Thanks!

the problem is that when it happens RW in my case only says i need asio
and doesn't make a log file, there is no crash just silence.

but after some re plugging several ways it suddenly sees it again ???

the strange thing is that the rest off my programms are during that time running smooth
they use the same drivers

Randy, I'm not using ASIO4ALL. I do have problems with crashing, but not because of asio drivers (I assume due to the error msg i get, which i think is a prob with my puter...it says unhandled exception). This usually happens when I first start up RW then I restart RW and it works. I am sending you a copy of the log file, thank you for any help you can give me!

Doen't the Line 6 version use only Line 6 drivers?

Bilbo, when you try and hit the record button, check on the bottom left beneath the stereo button to see if you have a device recognised. It should say Send+1 Send+2. If it says none, simply shut down RW, unplug your USB, wait 10 seconds, replug your USB then restart riffworks. Always works for me.

Yeah my device is recognized, but the record button still wont work. I'm not sure when it stopped working, like danielrose said it was after the last update for him, coulda been for me too. I hadn't recorded anything for a few days after I installed the update. The last update had something to do with Mac users I think, I dont have a Mac could that be the problem? Can I or should I uninstall it?

Still not able to record, and no one has figured out my problem yet. Hmmm maybe I should buy a round of beer for everyone? LOL :)
