I've searched to try to find this info but I can't. Apologies if it's already here somwhere.

THe instant drummer is great but how do you vary it. For example say I have an 8 bar riff. The drummer is playing away but at bar 6 , the drums are supposed to take a rest for 1 bar and then kick back in.

Other than clicking the instant drummer on or off while the song is playing, how do you actually save it so it will behave in that way?

Not sure if I am as clear as mud here :)

The only sure fire way to do what you're wanting to do (and I know this is a pain in the butt) is to split the part up into 3 riffs. The first would be 6 bars long with the Instant Drummer turned on, the second would be 1 bar long, Instant Drummer turned off (the break), then the third riff would have the Instant Drummer turned on again. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I was afraid that would be the answer :)

another way would be to make a riff of the drum so it is a "bounce" layer, then use the info line to block out what you want?

you would have to do the drum first before you add any guitars or anything.
