I have a pretty good recording setup, but the one thing that has always evaded me is a nice simple program that I can play through my favourite guitar plugs, or my PodXT, maybe jam with a drum loop, and if I find something sounds ok, hit record. I've stumbled upon Riffworks numerous times over the years, but never even downloaded the demo. Not sure why, but I do know the interface always looked meaningless and a little confusing.

I have tried a few templates as a jamming/creation tool in EnergyXT, Reaper, Xlutop Chainer, Guitar Rig and so on. It was always too much hassle to get up and running when the inspiration struck. Amplitube2 with the audio file player is very simple and quick but then when I like the sound of something, I can't record and have to quickly load up a DAW, a drum plugin, find my guitar plugin preset, remember what I was doing etc.

A few days ago I thought I might as well at least check Riffworks out. I didn't realise I could use all my Amp vsts for starters. But anyway, after about 5 minutes I was thinking, WHAT THE F**K? This is the program I have been searching for, for years. And it was there all along. Why didn't someone tell me?

If you've read this far then good work because it was all really boring I imagine. But, I have demoed pretty much every plugin and DAW on the planet. I have bought more my fair share and probably more than I could ever fully use. And now, it turns out the one thing I wanted all along, possibly the most useful creation tool I could have, was there all along and I ignored it. How did I miss it?

Thank you
I am Eilerom!

We ALL pretty much feel the same as yourself....If I would have known about RW's before July 2005..... I would have bought it...RW came out in January of 2005...........and I've been preaching it's merits ever since........most salesmen in my local music centers have NO idea what I'm talking about when I mention it...........but hopefully that changes with the release of T4........it will get out to the masses ........and then Sonoma can get busy releasing there RiffWorks Ultra or Deluxe versions that have all the extra features that we've been asking for, for quite some time now........:)

Eilerom/Ailerom, we tried to tell you... j/k ;)

Welcome to the RiffWorld, saving guitarists one at a time! Now that you've been saved, we have just one rule - new guy buys the beer, and must spread the word so we can find more new guys to jam with and buy more beer! :D

If I Update My Line 6 Version Of Riffworks(2.2) To The Last Riffworks Standard Version...should I Use Other Plugins Such As Gearbox Plugins, Directly Selecting Them From The Folder In The Same Riffworks Program? Could I Compose My Drums With Some Program For Riffworks? If I Compose A Song But I Don't Compose The Drums,in The Case I Have Bought Istant Drummers Sessions, must I Pay Any Copyright?

Hi Eilerom,

Thanks for your post and welcome. Yes, RiffWorks T4 will help. There have been over 10,000 downloads in just over a week, so the word is spreading quickly now.

Cheers,
Michelle

Nope, my beer drinking prior to Riffworks was virtually non existent and since Riffworks has been part of a 99% virtual existence ;) I have developed a bit of a taste for very cold Bud Light Lime since I moved to Florida from UK but really I'm a confirmed JD, Southern Comfort etc etc man :)

Even if your cat that has sprayed your screen, I'm willing to wager it tastes better than XXXX. Not up for testing though.
