hey all you fellow riffers and riffettes...im wondering why no one has made a full blown video tutorial on how to fully use riffworks, this would help all the new riffers, including myself,on how to compose and make good songs without it being one beat all the way thru the song...i have been at it for a few weeks, and have made 2 decent riffs, but they sound as if they were the middle of a song or the end of a song... i know there are the riffworks demos, and the user guides, but me personally im a hands on guy and it would be nice if someone out in riffworld would just take the time to show us how.youtube has got a couple videos but nothing much in showing you how its all done...cmon guys...someone can make us video i know it....riff on...

Such a video would be a pretty big job. I have a cool screen capture utility called Camtasia which could do it, but I don't know enough about the whole app to do something like this. The only people who would know everything about it are the devs, and they are busy making the thing work better and squashing bugs. The walkthrough is quite comprehensive, but I know what you mean about learning the real ins and outs of the software. Perhaps one of the more experienced junkies could be comissioned by Sonoma to make a series of 'How 2' movies and get paid in ID's or something?

Just thinking about it, there are already a few guides and things out there; Gator has some tucked away on his site somewhere I believe...

I did take a look at doing something like this earlier in the year, but like Dave says the time and effort to do it right is enormous. I did put together sort of an "intro to mixing" tutorial (the link is in my signature) but it's more centered around after you've recorded some stuff, how to get a decent song mix. Might be something helpful in there though.

I wanted to put together a basic and also something around the more advanced things you can do to get some really cool results. Maybe someday... ;)
