Trying to get started with the latest copy (downloaded latest update last nite).

I have XGear and all the amplitube stuff, tried to choose XGear as my amp, I get a blank window.

Also, once you've selected and amp, how do you unselect it, or switch? Everytime I click the amp selector now, instead of a menu, it opens the currently selected amp sim, which is just the big white window.

This is a known issue I'm afraid. Others have mentioned it and the devs are looking to fix it with the next release, which apparently could be some time away. I'm guessing if enough people make some noise, it might be bumped to the top of the list and get fixed sooner.

I've posted about it in the thread re: the RW update

I feel lucky. It seems to work fine here. Although there was a lockup after I mixed down with the X-Gear interface open. Not sure it was the plugin's fault though.

Sigh. I can't say I'm digging this app, I have yet to get it to work at all. First were registration issues that tech support didn't respond to for nearly a week, now this.

Not happy at all here.

I know how you feel. I had what I considered significant registration issues. But now I have it working it is well worth it. This is THE application for getting ideas down fast, and more than that if required.

Plus the X-Gear issue seems a bit hit and miss. As I said, it appears to work fine here.

It would be helpful to know your particular configuration ( i.e., computer, OS etc.). Thanks.

I've been in touch with support and we didn't figure the issue out really. It could be a firewall related issue but if it is, it's the only one I've have since setting the firewall up.

Click the small arrow that's located on the AMP tab to select a different plugin.

More testing info --

I tried another vst host on my mac -- Reaper -- and did not have this blank window problem with the vst for X-Gear, so it must be something caused by RiffWorks.

Hope you fix this soon so I can use X-Gear again (as I could before this last upgrade of RiffWorks when it was using AU plugs before the switch to VST).

Thanks

Hey guys,

IK Multimedia released X-Gear 1.3 on March 10. I just tested it. Head over to their website, download the update, and everyone should be good to go again.

Best,
