If you download asio4all you can give it a whirl that way :)

hey all.....i'm having the same problem. just bought the guitarport/rifftracker box set and can't get it to go at all. its all loaded in and i get a signal (the meters are acknowledging the input signal) when i play the guitar thru the guitar port, but all i get is a hissing sound through the speakers. i can't even hear the 'click' for the metronome!!! also, where is this 'instant drummer' that is says it comes with??

any help is greatly appreciated!! totally confused and none of the troubleshoting was of any help whatsoever. cheers...

well, i acctualy have no idea what i'm supposed to do with "Asio4all" xD once again im a newbie, so some explanation in terms i could understand would be nice :)

am i going to plug my guitar directly into the computer, or plug the guitar into the amplifyer and then with another cable inserted into the "headphones" input into the computer? xD

thanks in advance :P

You configure ASIO4ALL to use your soundcard as an ASIO driver so that Riffworks can recognize it. Riffworks only works with ASIO drivers so that little application may trick your soundcard into working.

Also do not plug your amplifier into your computer unless your amp has a headphone out jack.

okay, i think i understand, now, how do i do that? xD right now, i've got my guitar plugged into the amp, and then from the headphones jack (how do i know if its in or our? xD ) ive got another cable connected with my computers "Line in" jack. so, all i need to do now is to configure the asio4all thingy to use my soundcard as an asio driver? :)

Hmm, Its a "Peney Backstage" (DN?) Little crappy thing, no power atall :( And its a "Realtek" soundcard.

i just cant find anywere to press in this "Asio4all" program, there's like "exit" - "Advanced" and "Load defaults" nothing else to press anywere, so, i dont understand what im supposed to do with it xD

Never mind the amp for now. Let's concentrate on getting audio through Riffworks. Open ASIO4ALL and press load defaults. Your realtek card should be listed as an input and output device. Now start Riffworks and press audio setup in the lower right corner, choose ASIO4ALL. Press play on the riff recorder and verify you can hear the drums.

Hopefully you have a line in on your soundcard. If your soundcard has a mixer application make sure that line in is the one selected for recording. Plug your guitar into it or the output from the headphone jack on your amp.

I would try Amplitube2Live that comes with Riffworks with the guitar plugged into the line in.

I'll be back in a bit, dinner time. :)

I'm not familar with the Reltek mixer, but it should have a selection for which input is for recording on that tab somewhere. If not just see if you can hear your guitar at all, it will sound very quiet and clean without any amplification. You should see the meters move when you strum.

Amplitube2Live is a seperate free download for Riffworks Standard owners, also the rest of your free drummers are a seperate download. You have Riffworks Standard or T4?

To enable amplitube once you have it installed, click the hardware button on the bottom and then the effects tab. Click "amp" and browse to the place where you saved it.

Good luck.
