damn..I too followed all of your instructions but still nothing. just a little buzzing/hiss. i have no idea what sound card i have, just whatever came with the computer so that seems to be my problem. i guess i need some sorta upgrade on that.

i can't even hear the 'demo' track that is supplied. my sound for everything else is fine...video/mp3's etc. any other suggestions would be great. thx...

@ Cianide, what exactly did you buy for $200 ? Tell us this and as many details as you can about your computer and gear and we'll try to get you going. It might be worth you starting your own thread so Slingy and others can resolve capsylos' problems seperately :)

i bought the Gearbox/Guitar Port/Riff Tracker all in one box. i'm running XP on my HP computer, a few years old but should be ok. no idea about the sound card though...just the stock one that came with it. it should still at least play back the 'demo' songs, if anything.

just though i'd jump in this thread as to not have you guys just repeating stuff. geuss i should've started my on thread...sorry about that.

Cianide start a new thread. Not all stock computer soundcards have inputs for recording or work with ASIO drivers in which case the best thing to do is purchase a recommended input device like the Line6 Toneport or IKMultimedias stealth plug. It would be very helpful to know the model of your pc.

Didn't see your post, the gearbox rifftracker combo should work right out of the box but you have to connect speakers or headphones to the guitarport. You do not need the ASIO4ALL with this set up, uninstall it. The guitarport becomes your soundcard, its a 24 bit soundcard.

Go into the control panel and change sound devices to guitarport.

If not just see if you can hear your guitar at all, it will sound very quiet and clean without any amplification. You should see the meters move when you strum.

Amplitube2Live is a seperate free download for Riffworks Standard owners, also the rest of your free drummers are a seperate download. You have Riffworks Standard or T4?

To enable amplitube once you have it installed, click the hardware button on the bottom and then the effects tab. Click "amp" and browse to the place where you saved it.

Good luck.

well the only thing i can find in the realtek mixer is something named "Realtek audio input". i guess thats the one, anyway, if i turn on my amp and turn upp the volume on the guitar and strum while riffworks is running, i get no noise atall, not eaven the slightest.
Im using the T4 right now, and where can i download Amplitube2live? i've searched the website but couldent find it?

You need to log in to your Riffworld account (making sure you use exactly the same Username/SonomaKey you used for Riffworks) go to the store, find your account and your extra downloads of Amplitube Duo LE and Studio Devil BVC are in there. If not, do some exploring from here

Capsylo, I have a Realtek audio card, although there is no guarantee you have the same one. But on the bottom right of your screen, if you select the arrow you should see a red symbol. Hover over it and it should say 'Realtek HD Audio manager' Open it up and you should see an Audio I/O tab. However, the realtek interface comes up automatically for me whenever I connect something. It tells me what I'm connecting and asks if its right. You can also access it from your control panel. Check on the mixer as well that you have the right input connected.

alright, i tryed to create a riffworld account but it sad my name was in use already, so i guessed i had already made one, but when i try to loggin i type in my usename and password, then it's just telling me "Please wait" and nothing more happens, anyone of you knows if this is a common problem? :P

About the realtek post, i know about the realtek audio manager, the problem is i dont know how to "Chose" the input for recording.

anyway i still dont get any sound in riffworks and i dont understand why? My guitar (guitar to amp - Amp to computer style) is plugger into the "In line" in the back of my computer and everything! dont know what im supposed to do xD

(EDIT: i just plugged the guitar into the "mic" jack in the computer, and now im getting this weard sound in riffworks, but its not affected by be struming the guitar or turning of amplifyer, so, what the hell is that sound? xD )

Had the same problem, was trying to run my non-USB KORG PX4D into the computer. Tried the ASIO4ALL thing too, no luck. Finally upgraded to the KORG PX5D Pandora, USB,....using this as the driver,.......SUCCESS!!!
