hey guys.
for the past 3 years, ive been using FL-Studio to write music (and scored a record deal with it! :) ) and thought ide try riffworks out. i really like riffworks T4 and am thinking of buying as it would be a great tool to rewire with.

thing is tho, i have a pod-xt, so i have no need for amplitube live. should i get line 6 edition? its cheaper, and according to the line6 site it will intergrate with my pod better.

(also, amplitube duo le was installed with T4, but wont show up in the plugins list. not a big problem, but it is one. it shows up as a vst inside FL-Studio 8 tho)

Hey d3rocks,

Here's the explanation of Line 6 Edition that includes a link to a feature comparison chart:
http://www.sonomawireworks.com/guide/index.php/RiffWorks_Line_6_Edition

Odd that AmpliTube 2 Duo LE isn't showing up in RiffWorks T4 for you. You might want to ask support about that: http://www.sonomawireworks.com/support_form.php

Standard works great with the POD family of products and the download is only $99 right now for a limited time with coupon code: RWSTHIRY

Cheers,
Michelle

If you plan on using any devices other than your Pod, then go for the Standard version. Other then that, they are about the same.

im only planning on using the pod. i know line6 is good about switching devices (they handle their modelpack switching very well) so they could probably do the same with riffworks. how long does this promotion last michelle? its on par with the line6 edition right now, but i have no credit card atm to buy with.

Right now we've got the coupon good until August 15th and the sonoma store accepts paypal as well as credit card.

RiffWorks Standard boxes are distributed to stores worldwide, but some have run out of stock. Give them a call to see if they have some in stock.

I have both L6 and RW Std versions. No big differences as far as I can tell. I use only L6 pods (toneport / guitaport).

So... Get them both! LOL!

i have one last question. what is the DRM like on Riffworks?
cause i dont want have to call a phone # every time i have to reinstall and get accused of being a pirate by the person on the other end (cough..ADOBE!...cough cough).

i know the line 6 edition would be tied to my pod, so that would be DRM enough on its own, but what is standard edition like?

It's simple, just requires a little dna sample and analysis each time you run the program. Doesn't hurt much. :)

No really, you have to log in on a computer with internet access to authorize your install. Thats it. Reinstall as much as you want without ever contacting anyone.

That's not quite right. We have a set limit of three installs before you need to get in touch with us. Just drop us a line and we'll reset that. Otherwise it would be too easy for someone to post their login name/password and then give RiffWorks away to the world.
