Hi!

I tested a free VST plugin called GSnap today. I'm new to this stuff. I could only make it work using the Effects settings for the monitor in Riffworks which means I can only use it while playing live. But if I allready have recorded a layer and whish to use that VST, would that be possible?

Typical use would be if you record a clean guitar tone and wish to play around with amplitude or if you record some vocals and would like to post-process it with autotune effects like GSnap.

AFAIK:

VST functionality on Riffworks is mostly (or only) suitable for "Direct/Live Recording" only, if you've already recorded "dry" or just want to add a new effect, tweak, etc... it's not possible.

Furthermore, I guess Dug said that by adding VST after a dry recording will produce a lot of use of computer resources; by saying that, it means you'll have slow processing, lags, and maybe latency.

I guess for good PC's with good Hardware it'll work better on latency, lag and such, but RW does not allow to add it after you've mixed.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, at least I tried to do the same issue, and when I couldn't, I came to the forum and performed a search, the above answer refers to what I remember from that search.

Cheers
