Hi, anyone using Drumcore via Rewire with RW?

It is great, but I'm wondering if it is posible to play different loops in each riff (like other rewire applications:: reason, etc).

So far, the only solution I have is to export the loops to rex2.

But probably blue4u has found something better ;-)

Nope, you can only run one instance of it per session. Bummer huh? :(

I usually just run ReWire and experiment until I find a beat I like, throw it up on the song timeline with just Drumcore running and mix down with "mix to riff". I'll set up anywhere from 5 to 15 riffs with different beats and use those as the starting place for whatever song I'm working on. This technique requires you to know in advance what type of beat you're going for though. Otherwise you could do it in reverse and start with the metronome or an instant drummer beat and pull all riffs down off the timeline and do one riff at a time with ReWire finding the beat you want with Drumcore and mix each riff back down but this way, you'll lose all your layers. There are other creative workarounds I'm sure but I'm too lazy to figure them out ;)

Export to Rex is probably the best way. Just use ReWire to preview the beat you want and export it from there :) Hope that gives you some things to try anyway?

Drumcore has midi files and wave etc. You should be able to export the midi file to a directory using the export button and associated setup parameters. then import the midi file into reason lanes. You can then rewire to RW and by manipulating the midi notes in the lanes you can change the loops. You can choose different drum kits in reason to get different kit sounds. Also, if I am not mistaken there is a parameter in Drumcore that allows you to export each instrument as it's own track so when it imports into reason you get separate tracks for each part of the drum kit.

I hope this helps as I am in the midst of figuring all of this our right now. I wish reason came with an printed manual instead of online it would make it easier to understand. Drumcore I think is the same way.
