I just purchased Riffworks yesterday. Seems like a very cool program. The problem is the amp sim plugins I'm using sound like garbage. I have both POD Farm and the Amplitude plugin that came with Riffworks. When i'm trying to dial in guitar sounds I'm hearing the clean sound of my guitar with the plugin. If I dig in hard on the strings it gets worse. I'm sure it's my fault but I would appreciate any help I can get from other users that have figured this out.

What hardware device you have and connected your guitar to.?

if you have a line6 pod or other device make sure you have not set it to reamping mode. i.e record clean signal but play processed. It should be set to send processed guitar i think.

Also check your quitar cabling/connection as a loose connection or a short could be killing all the sound and just transmitting some leakage.

Thanks for the fast reply. The cable is good. I've tried it through both my PODxt and directly into my Echo Audio Gina 3G. I hear some of the stuff other users on here have created and my guitar sound isn't happening. I've tried it with both my Telecaster with Joe Barden PUPS and my Strat with Lindy Fralin's. Maybe I just need to keep trying until I figure it out.

Well, if you're loaded with bardens and fralins, one should think you should not be having any problems getting good tones.
Are you battery loaded for any type of preamp or eq in the guitar?
What kind of sounds are you shooting for?
What are the amp models you desire to use and particulars of the signal chain looking like?

I have barely dug into Amp farm, but it doesn't appear to be that difficult to setup and offers a good deal more flexibility as far as getting tones over Gearbox.

In order to get more help, you can open up a case file with support, or, you can provide more details here (as much as possible-even screenshots can help) and slog it out.. usually people are more than willing to step up and offer some help.

That's the thing, I have no problems getting good tones going through one of my amps, I just can't seem to get decent sounds from my plugins. I'm new to working without an amp. I just need to keep playing with the plugins until I figure it out I guess.

You could be monitoring two signals? Can you post a short sample to Riffcaster and share the link here?

Yep, it seems like you may be monitoring a stereo input. Check in the lower left corner of RW and click off the stereo button. In the drop down below choose your guitar input. HTH.
