Resetting audio engine

I am on latest T4, PC with dual 4200 AMD, 4 gigs of ram running Sonar and Cubase 4 flawlessly. Audio card is Presonus FS Tube.
T4 gets "Resetting audio engine" every time I import, export or duplicate a riff, takes forever to release the audio engine back, in some cases it doesn't.
Any clues what to look for?

Hrm, that's a strange one. What's your Presonus's buffer size set to?

Thanks for your quick reply.

Latency is set pretty high since the card has monitoring built in at the input so I have it at 512 or then next one in the 692 or something.

Actually I closed RW via Ctr+Alt+Del command, shutdown the card, started it up then restarted RW and so far no glitches.

I was trying to import a song into an online collaboration I am loading when this occured last.

Mind try setting it to 256 and then test to see if RiffWorks continues to reset the audio engine when performing the specified tasks?

Randy, I totallu lost the audio card now. Putting it at 256 I get:
Using Direct Sound:
RW is using your system default audio device. Audio Setup requires an ASIO device. Hitting Audio Setup doesn't bring up anything. That is with a project I loaded via the collaborate site. Upon restarting and bringing up a local project I am working on everything seems fine, when duplicating an album I get a fast "Resetting Audio Engine" and then it is all fine.

For some reason the audio card disappeared from RW, so after reinstall I get a dump file, it comes up all garbled up though so Notepad doesn't read it properly, probably a hex file.
I am on T4, actually have full version 2 but I d/loaded it somewhere I can't find it at this point, so I am using this to add a few parts.
Anyway - is there a place where I can send the dump file to you guys?

I think I went over the 4 track rule in T4 running in Auto Mute Layers recording mode - I went over the 4 allowed layers and T4 took a dump on me.

I got the resseting audio engine with my tascam us 122l but after I changed the settings to high latency no more problem.. I use a Toneport now and haven't had the same problem unless I leave the computer to long and then go back to record then it dumps the audio driver....try making your default driver for your pc... the input device you are using.. you can run your speakers off of it..

Good Idea fooks, Alex go to the Presonus FS Tube website down load the newest drivers.. or try some of the older ones.. As a side note I use a toneport by line6 hands down the best audio interface.. I have 3 other audio interfaces I no longer use because of to many problems...

Also have you can try running RW in a virtual machine with Hackintosh(mac Osx) way better audio drivers.. and since you don't use vst instruments might be the best solution...If you want to go this route let me know and I can FTP server you a vm version of mac....

I got a full fledged Mac machine but the streaming there is awfully slow. It is RW guys, all my other programs are runnign fine. My studio mainstay Cubase 4 is rock solid with this setup so I won't monkey much with it, whatever works - works... I got a big session coming on the weekend so no updates or changes for me unless it is reinstalling T4.
