I know you all are really busy, but any possibilty you guys could throw together a Riffcaster Windows Vista SideBar Gadget using the Gadgets For Windows Sidebar Developers GuideYeah I really want one on my desktop all the time showing active posts. Anybody good at this stuff? Would be sweet to get an official one with the Riffworld color scheme.

Thanks

That is a great idea GS, can it be done? Basically a RSS feed reader right?

Hi Slinger!

I made a quick and dirty prototype using the guidelines from your website, it looks nice but is hardcoded. I call it RiffSpy. You can download it here:

http://www.savefile.com/files/1880292

Note, you have to unpack it and copy the directory RiffSpy.gadget to the following directory:

%USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows SidebarGadgets

After that you can add the RiffSpy to your Windows Sidebar. This only works for Windows Vista.

What we need now is an experience Javascript programmer. Best way to finish this would propably be to reverse engineer an existing very simple RSS.feed reader for Windows Sidebar.
