I apologize for this as it seems that I hacked the forum, but apparently the global recession leads to a price depression, and really, this is a great product. I already own everything and it's worth it every cent.... I need to share this with you.

This is the closest to an artificial intelligence drummer -- something like the Instant Drummers....

I tried to download the demo and fire up in Ableton, but it keeps locking and crashing Live. Too bad I really wanted to hear how it would sound........oh well.

So, it's 60 dollars now? Hmmm...I never liked their interface (graphics) but maybe I could get used to it. The layout looks a bit outdated and cheesy (like it was made 10 years ago). They could take some hints from Riffworks on the design! The user interface is important (to me at least)!

Yeah, I see what you mean. Have you seen Acoutica's Beatcraft Drum Machine software? That looks as if it was designed for Windows 3.1.

To be fair though it works quite well, though probably not in Jamstix's league. It has also been a while since I last trialled it so they might have updated the GUI in the meantime.

I think the interface is the most important thing and is what drew me to Riffworks; while many music software companies try to make their stuff look like actual gear, somehow Riffworks transcends that and takes it to another level.

Guys,

If it is a woman, I can see your point...

Nevermind the sound, the artificial intelligence and the ability to jam with you; as well as the ability to load any other vst instrument such as EZ Drummer, BFH, Addictive Drums , any drumsynth, etc. Add the ability to choose the style of the drummer...

Yes, I can see your point on the interface... For those who know what it is about, enjoy!

BTW, Jamstix Bassist in the pipelines...

Actually, this software (like Riffworks) is a one-of-a-kind piece of kit which holds a lot of promise. I'm not above seeing that and maybe it's a bit petty of me but I need a good looking interface that is inspiring to use. I'm high maintenance I guess!

I should a least give the demo a fair shake....

Thanks for the tip Garchev. I appreciate your posts :)

Rich,

I don't like the interface either... I prefer something a la EzDrummer (Drumkits from Hell!!!!!!). To be honest, I don't know what's the big deal to come up with a more decent one. And I second you on the "one-of-a kind", just as RW (although, you and I, we know that we wait for the VSTi capability, .........let's hope).

Best,
