I want to use RW on a computer that is not online. Why hasnt an option for a dongle or some other type CP been offered?

Why do you insist that only internet users are of value to you?
Now, forgive me if there is a way already in place but I fear not.
O.K. go ahead and qoute the EULA, Get that out of the way & than answer the question.

Absolutely nothing to stop you using RiffWorks offline, I use it offline all the time. Unless I'm misunderstanding your point ??? Obviously you can't use Rifflink offline as it's an online collaboration feature and you have to go online to use Riffworld, the forums and acquire upgrades etc.

Hope I'm not missing your point mate, if you're after using RiffWorks for recording alone it works just fine without the need to be online :)
No-one remembers what you do or say. Everyone remembers how you made them feel. Allegedly !!!!

I think he is referring to the activation aspect of using it on a non-internet connected machine....is that the issue? No EULA reference yet, but clearly it is due to pirating. Which I would like to point out affects pretty much every other program available today, and RWS is certainly not the only one out there that is internet activation only either. But I digress.......

Was there not a way to transfer a license in the type of scenario? Anyone, someone?

No way to transfer licenses around. You have to connect your computer to the Internet, just one time, to activate RiffWorks.

Find a friend on the Internet, take your machine there and connect then register/activate it.

Dude, it's pretty obvious you're on the internet right now....just hook up that machine to the internet and activate RW....you only have to do it once. It's not all that hard, really ;)

LOL... Pooter, I must say, you have a point...

Maybe his recording machine doesn't have a modem or ethernet card?

Not even an integrated NIC? Never heard of that before.....

That is too bad........you will miss out on a lot of great software, including RW on that box. Hopefully down the road Sonoma will develop another form of license registration that may help. But for now there is nothing that can be done to help you in this instance.
