I would like it we had a basic list of compatable vst software for RW.. (no just the IKMEDIA list and line6 software)I hate buying stuff then find out it crashes RW or doesn't show up in the vst window ect... I am tech savey and have found some work arounds.. but I bet alot of people get frustrated by this.. Thanks Guys.

RW is still my favorite DAW just making suggestions..

That's why I never buy a vst that doesn't have a free trial version so I can test it out first with my system.

I don't know if a list from Sonoma would even be a definitive answer as far as what works and what won't. I've tried using vst's that other folks here use with RW without any problem and I can't get them to run at all.

It might be better to have an FAQ or 'sticky' thread to keep track of what VST's are known to work (and not to work) by the users, we could cover more ground that way.

yup we do need a sticky or faq section that can be updated and kept in sync instead of digging into forum posts.

btw for generics,
any vst with no inbuilt preset management does not work in RW.

There's a sticky called Compatible VST Plugins - please continue the discussion there:

Vad1er,

I'll post a list of the FREE ones available for downloading that I have found on the net that work with RW if you want. I will also try to post links to where you can download them.

I currently have and use a number of different VST amps and effects with RW and have tested a lot more that just plain "sucked" or didn't work at all or crashed RW, so I've done a bit of weeding for you already.
There are people out there that look just like you. When they try to hand you something, don't take it. Grand Funk Railroad - Grand Funk Live
